Barcelona overtake PSG to rank second in global football revenue rankings – Report

 FC Barcelona has undergone considerable financial challenges in recent years, primarily because of the COVID-19 pandemic and several years of ineffective management that nearly resulted in the club's collapse.

 Nevertheless, indications of recovery have emerged. Although not fully secure yet, Barcelona seems to be improving. A recent report by Sport indicated that the club is just €14 million away from complying with the 1:1 financial regulation, which would bolster their standing in the transfer market. 

As per the latest Deloitte Football Money League report cited by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has climbed several ranks, now securing the second position among the top 20 men's football clubs worldwide in terms of revenue for the 2024/25 season, surpassing PSG and only falling short to Real Madrid. Los Blancos continue to hold the leading position in the Football Money League with revenues of €1.161 billion for the 2024/25 season. 

After ending up in sixth place last year, Barcelona is now in second position, generating nearly €1 billion in revenue (€974 million). Deloitte has published a ranking of the top 20 men's football clubs globally based on revenue for the 2024/25 season.

 Manchester United has fallen to its lowest rank, while Liverpool has emerged as the highest-earning English club for the first time. Bayern Munich occupies the third position with revenues exceeding €860 million.

 Notably, PSG is the only French team featured in the top 20, with issues related to television rights in France affecting clubs such as Olympique Marseille and Lyon. 

This ranking underscores that, despite their financial difficulties, the Catalan club remains a significant player in revenue creation and has successfully established itself among the world's top two. 

This represents a notable progression. However, this advancement does not inherently guarantee sporting sustainability, and it will be intriguing to see how Barcelona performs in this regard in the upcoming months.
